The lady in maroon scarf is Puan Nik Eliani. The founder of Read Easy and Bacalah Anakku.
I met her in Facebook about 3 or 4 years back.
I knew her earlier in around 2000 because her READ EASY and Bacalah Anakku were so famous back then. Tapi masa tu, she didn’t know me. I was like 14 or 15 years of age! Haha.
Dapat hadir ke kursus intensif for both English and Bahasa Melayu. Saya datang tanpa dipaksa. Rela hati sendiri. 😄
Not just for the sake of teaching my kids on how to read, but to learn about the techniques on how phonics could make an impact in motor and sensory skills development despite reading.
And for my own continuing professional development as an occupational therapist too!
And hah!! Yes, the action songs are great! Enjoyed most of the both sessions.
It is a natural learning process because I learned the speech sounds.
I learned how auditory and verbal memory can be enhanced through actions (kinaesthetic).
No memorisation or hafalan, just a small number of sight words.
It is meaningful and fun!
It involves play and sounds.
It is very multisensory.
It has movement, sound, touch, verbal and visual.
All are integrated to learn reading!
